The 2013 J.W. “Blind” Boone Ragtime and Early Jazz Festival will be Monday, June 10th and Tuesday, June 11th with a very special Pre-Festival Celebration on Sunday, June 9th.

Sunday Afternoon, 4:00 PM – The Launch: An Informal Get-Together
Join us for a Silent Film with Dennis James at the Organ and Frederick Hodges at the Piano – A Delightful Re-experience of Yesteryear!
Tickets for The Launch are $5 each, or included with your ticket for The Ragtime Bash
Sunday Night, 6:00 PM – The Ragtime Bash!!!
This party promises to be one HOT ticket! Hobnob with the Virtuosi of Vintage Music! Enjoy adult beverages and gourmet hors d’oeuvres in the splendid ambiance of the Missouri Theatre.
Tickets for The Ragtime Bash are $50 and include admission to The Launch that afternoon.

Monday Afternoon Concert, 4 PM – The Young Turks Concert
This group of young, exceptionally talented musicians treats us to a late afternoon concert following the seminar with Johnny Maddox. Featured players include Andrew Barrett, Vincent Johnson, Max Keenlyside, Frank LiVolsi, John Reed Torres, and Daniel Souvigny.

Morning Music Fairs – 10 AM – Both Monday and Tuesday will lead off with Music Fairs beginning at 10 AM. In the tradition of Blind Boone, Willie Cogshell, baritone, opens each concert with a spiritual. Steve Standiford, Dave Tucker, and Jim Radloff to MC.
Monday Afternoon Seminar – An Interview With The King of Ragtime - 2 PM Johnny Maddox, also known as The King of Ragtime, sits down with protege Adam Swanson to share stories and duets, too.
Tuesday Afternoon Seminar – The Evangelist of Rhythm – 2 PM Mitch Meador presents a history of Willard Robison, Evangelist of Rhythm. Listen and learn as Mitch gives insight into the life and times of this American vocalist, pianist, composer, and native Missourian.
After the Sunday evening Ragtime Bash and the evening concerts on both Monday and Tuesday night, come out to Bennigans at the Courtyard By Marriott (Hotel Headquarters) for late night jam sessions and impromptu musical happenings.
